Terms of Service
Reliable Plumbing Co.
Last updated: January 1, 2026
Thank you for choosing Reliable Plumbing Co. By booking our services, you agree to the following terms. We've written them plainly so there are no surprises — just honest, professional plumbing service.
1. Service Agreement
When you authorize work to proceed — whether by phone, email, or signed estimate — you are entering into a service agreement with Reliable Plumbing Co. This agreement covers the scope of work described, the agreed pricing, and these terms.
These terms apply to all services we provide, including drain clearing, pipe repair and replacement, fixture installation, hot water heater service, emergency plumbing, and any other work performed by our licensed plumbers.
2. Estimates & Payment
Estimates: We provide written estimates before beginning work wherever possible. For emergency calls, we will quote before beginning any non-emergency portion of the work. Estimates are valid for 30 days.
Payment: Payment is due upon completion of service unless a prior arrangement has been made in writing. We accept e-Transfer, cheque, and major credit cards (a 2.5% processing fee applies to credit card payments).
Deposits: Larger projects (repipes, major installations) may require a deposit of up to 50% before materials are ordered. The deposit amount will be stated in your written estimate.
Late payments: Accounts outstanding beyond 30 days may be subject to a 1.5% monthly interest charge.
3. Emergency Services
We offer 24/7 emergency plumbing response for active leaks, sewage backups, and no-hot-water situations. Emergency calls outside regular business hours (Monday–Friday, 8 AM–6 PM) are subject to an emergency dispatch fee, which will be quoted before dispatch.
Booking an emergency call constitutes your agreement to the emergency rate, including the dispatch fee, even if the issue is resolved quickly on arrival.
4. Warranty
All labour performed by Reliable Plumbing Co. is warranted for 90 days from the date of service. If the same issue recurs within the warranty period due to a defect in our workmanship, we will return and correct it at no charge.
Parts and fixtures carry the manufacturer's warranty, which we will pass through to you. Our workmanship warranty does not cover:
- Damage caused by misuse, freezing, or acts of nature after our service is complete
- Parts supplied by the client
- Pre-existing conditions in the plumbing system unrelated to the scope of work performed
5. Property Access
By booking our services, you grant Reliable Plumbing Co. permission to access your property at the scheduled time. Please ensure that the work area is reasonably accessible and that water shut-off locations are known.
We will take reasonable care to protect your property. Please remove valuables and fragile items from the immediate work area before our arrival. We are not responsible for incidental damage to items left in the work zone.
If our plumber arrives and cannot access the property or work area, a trip charge may apply.
6. Licensed & Insured
All plumbing work is performed by or under the direct supervision of licensed plumbers holding valid Ontario plumbing licences. We carry comprehensive commercial general liability insurance and WSIB coverage.
Proof of licence and insurance is available upon request. Any work requiring a permit will be identified in advance; permit costs, if applicable, will be included in your estimate.
7. Liability
We take every precaution to protect your property and perform work to Ontario Building Code standards. However:
- We are not liable for pre-existing conditions in your plumbing system that are discovered during, but unrelated to, the scope of work.
- We are not liable for damage caused by hidden defects (corroded pipes, failed seals) that could not reasonably be identified without destructive investigation.
- Water damage resulting from a failure to disclose known pre-existing issues is the responsibility of the property owner.
- Our total liability for any incident shall not exceed the total amount paid for the service in question.
For damage claims, please contact us within 5 business days of the incident.
8. Cancellations & Rescheduling
Scheduled appointments: Please provide at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a non-emergency appointment. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to a trip charge.
Emergency calls: Emergency dispatch fees are non-refundable once a plumber has been dispatched to your location.
Our cancellations: In the rare event we must cancel due to illness or emergency, we will notify you as soon as possible and reschedule at your earliest convenience at no additional charge.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be available on our website. Your continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
